Beer Sauced Links, aka Beer Sausages

I got this recipe from an old friend when we were stationed in Berlin, Germany and have made them many times over the years ... perfect for game day or anytime you want a quick and easy snack to put together! GREAT family-favorite appetizer ... always a hit here and there are never any leftovers.

RECIPE

Ingredients
2 lbs. smoked sausage, cut into slices
1 cup beer
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 tbls. cornstarch
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup mustard (I use spicy brown mustard)
1 tbls. horseradish

Method
Combine sliced smoked sausage pieces and beer in a saucepan. Cover and simmer 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a small bowl combine the brown sugar and cornstarch; stir in vinegar, mustard, and horseradish.

Add mixture to smoked sausage and cook until sauce is thickened and bubbly. Serve hot in a fondue pot or small crockpot.

Enjoy,

Mary
